Sandboxing is a collection of R&D techniques I use with AI teams to explore and design powerful solutions that current regulations or norms might not allow, yet.
Inspired by regulatory sandboxes but taken further, my approach to sandboxing begins with a radical mental exercise: “What would your product look like if no laws, rules, or limitations existed?”
During the ideation phase, sandboxing begins as thought experiments for key staff. Throughout the R&D journey, it evolves into a method for revealing that many so-called barriers are negotiable, misunderstood, or self-imposed. By the final stages, sandboxing becomes a tool to prove that what once seemed extreme or impossible can, in fact, be implemented.
